Hi guys,
I have busy learning vector illustration recently. I work for a company that does a lot of signage and printing but is quite light on graphical expertise so I decided to learn as much as I could and be more useful. Never hurts to have a new skill! I decided to pick a difficult subject and copy it as close as I could as a learning exercise. A soda can or a candy wrapper didn't interest me at all, however unlimited air racers tend to have really nice and intricate paint jobs. I did a Bearcat years ago so thought it would be fun to modify the model into the famous Rare Bear and try and replicate here paint job. I'm very happy with the result, I really learned a lot. I'm using Xara at the minute but I'm sure its all transferable to other programs. Render is Flamingo Nxt and the graphics are all applied as planar bitmaps.
Next I want to get better at compositing!
