With a yearning to do some aviation artwork featuring the early fighters used by the IAF, I made modifications to Bazze's Me-109 to turn it into an Avia s-199.  These planes were smuggeled into Israel to counter the Spitfires and Dakota bombers of the Egyptian air force.

Now I am tasked with UV Mapping since my modifications destroyed the original mapping.  Note that I have  mapped almost the whole port wing and flap and alieron.  Also the fuselage is cylinder mapped using the interactive mapping option.  I had to cut off the vert stab in order to get that done and it will be mapped planar like the wings are.

Here is the over view.

Here are the wings isolated.  Note that the aileron and flap are not mapped yet to the starboard wing.

Cool project, Dan. Watching with interest.

That's quite a tangle you have in the first frame. I assume you have material zones and/or groups defined to help you select the parts you want?

Thanks EnglishBob.  Yes the model came over from Hexagon with the original groupings intact.  I also have the right click menu available to me in UVMP which I can use to select Geometry.  This helps me lots in this type of situation.  I am assigning each page of mapping to a Region to keep things sorted out.  The fuselage is Region page1.  The wings are Region page2 etc.  I had to make sure that all the modeling was done on the project before mapping began because all region assignments are wiped out each time the project has to return to Hexagon for more modeling.
