Subject: Swapping camera position to a new camera?

Rather than having 10 scene files with cameras in each in a different position I want to have 1 scene with 1 camera keyframed in 10 positions over 10 frames.

The problem is, is how do I get the camera positions from Camera B to Camera A without manually typing in coordinates?

Is there a way?

Cheers

Check if the Stage Object can help you, otherwise I *know* there is a plugin out there that does exactly this but I can't for the life of me remeber what it's called!

Cheers.

I thought you could just drag the keyframes to another camera but no.

Took a few mins to write coordinates and type them in.. slow, but worked :)

Hi,

you can copy the coordinate by right clicking on them and then paste them to the new camera.

Or, depending on Your aim/situation, You can Right-Click -> Animation -> Copy track and then Right-Click -> Animation -> Paste track on the other object.

The trick is which coordinates are You going to transfer, and those are the highlighted one when You click on them.

E.g. click on X and it is the only one affected, click on P and X, Y and Z are affected, now Ctrl+click and You can select the S and R vectors too!

The selection works on the target too, so make sure the same used. I Ctrl+Right Click so the selection is not lost.

PS: apparently (just a guess) the values are stored as ordered multiplet: if I copy the 3 vectors and paste on Y then the 1st value, i.e. the original X, is used.

PS: tested in R14, not sure on previous versions.

I hope it helps.

Kind regards.

Provided you have R14, woulnd't the easiest thing be to add those 10 cameras to your scene, select them, create a Camera Morph (Menu: Create - Camera - Camera Morph) and then use the Blend option of the Camera Morph to animate camera movement between those 10 cameras?

Still have R13.

I'll try the suggestions when I'm back in UK. Cheers :)

Ah, too bad... I hope one of the other suggestions will work for you.

By the way, I think the plugin whose name Anders couldn't remember was Scooby Cam Tools by C4D Jack. Just in case you want to have a look at it:

That's a great plugin but not the one I was thinking of. I have the name of it in the back of my head but I just can't get to it! Very frustrating... :)
