im wanna start learning sculpting so i wanna add a sculpting application to my maya pipeline. Im not planning on dealing with Zbrush yet  and Mudbox they both not working properly with my Graphics card  which leaves me with Modo and 3d coat. i just wanna be able to sculpt details and paint texures. Which one do u guys recomend and why? as always thank u for ur answers

I haven't used any of them really, so I can't recommend any. I use Mudbox

I have used Mudbox before and i love it, but my lame graphics card(radeon xt1900) on my mac is not working with mudbox it runs but cant do much. and Honestly i just dont wanna start lerning Zbrush the interface drives me crazy. but as always thanks for responding man :-) Happy new year

Have you tried sculptris? It is free, easy to learn, and powerful. I have 3d-Coat. It's great for UV- mapping, texturing and retopo work but I would rather scuplt in sculptris. Blender has some nice sculpting tools these days too. But its hard to compete with the dinamic tesalation of sculptris. Oh yeah I'm not a Maya guy but Iits so quiet in rendo these day I wondered in here out of boredom.

no i havent tried sculptris yet will give it a shot hopefully it will work with my crappy radeon xt1900
