Hi, new to the forum here, hope to find an answer to my question here!

I'm rendering a 12m yacht, with wall thicknesses from 18 to 33mm, and I'm noticing that when rendering with GI, dark stains appear on the outer surface. It looks like GI "shines" the darkness from inside the material through the outer skin.

The image shows a portion of the bow, it gets dark where there are 4 layers of skin in close proximity where the bow get really narrow (port outer, port inside, starboard inside, starboard outside).

further aft you can see some marking from an interior panel.

I'm guessing I have to alter Global Illumination settings but I'm pretty clueless as to where to begin...

Got it fixed. Export from CAD as .wrl (VRML2.0) in stead of .obj did the trick.

Glad you got it sorted!
