Ok, figured I would start one of these as I always wanted to. Heres the terrain. World Machine & Terragen generated Power Fractal terrain. I have no ideas at the moment, so feel free to chime in, posting this will hopefully make me finish it ;) More to come

I set up a second camera that will come in hand later. Going to add more srf

Type N for Nodes and start typing the word camera, highlight the camera node, drag & drop in another camera node and plug it in to one of the renders .The active camera selector is the button low left corner of the 3d preview window with 2 camera depicted on it

Heres where this is heading, I decided to create a bunch of small villages to break up this never ending forest of palms. This is going to take a while but I think it will be worth the work.

Close up of the Village, I have some arranging to do and more props to add as well as a path to the boat.  Also some reflective issues on the straw roofs need to be sorted. But you get the idea. Village is from Daz

looks very nice - did you use vues eco system for population?

Danny_G ( ) posted Mon, 01 April 2013 at 8:12 AM

The huts still look too smooth (IMHO).  Are you taking these through Poseray?  Or doing it entirely within TG2?  Just curious.

Danny_G ( ) posted Mon, 01 April 2013 at 11:43 AM · edited Mon, 01 April 2013 at 11:50 AM

I imported directly from daz. These are really low poly models so the detail out of the straw isn't going to be anything more than bump displacement. A higher AA, say 16 would make these look much better, these are raytraced @ AA4. However I  am not really concerned with anything but reflection at this point as the main camera is several hundred meters from these camps. I am just setting this one up to create a clip file of the camp to be duplicated for additional camps across the valley. Thats the plan for now anyway ;)

Hi Danny,

I like the camera 2 view the most, with the normal camera position, the ship almost disepears in the image.

But we will see ,I hope ladylike and peedy haven't eaten all the popcorn

Sorry forgotten to look at the end, didn't noticed that there where 2 pages

peedy ( ) posted Mon, 15 April 2013 at 11:31 PM

We make our own popcorn, so there's still plenty for you, too, TerraCr8tor. ;-D
