All about the mesh
Mesh development in Blender. Free program, free as the air, create, create... all kinds of free stuff and learn, exercise, try, fail... succeed.
Getting that mesh to conform to humanoids developed by someone else: wow, how cool is *that*! Yep, seems a long ways away, but it is doable. Others have, anyone can.
Lots of concepts about mesh: how to make it a good mesh with it being really high-vertex-count. There's something out there about Sub-D... hope it comes into being a standard, eventually. So, it'll be lower-res, yet high quality.
Yet, at this point, it's still about polygons. Poser likes quads. Flinches at tris. So, the mesh needs to be comprised of all quads.
