Seamless Connectivity Between Company’s 3D Content Creation Solutions and Leading Game Development Platforms – Unity 3D and the Unreal Engine – On Display
Who:
MAXON, the
industry-leading developer of 3D motion graphics, visual effects,
painting, and rendering software applications, will be exhibiting
its award winning 3D content creation solutions -- CINEMA 4D
and BodyPaint 3D -- at the 2013 Game Developers Conference (GDC), March
27-29, 2013 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco.
What:
Game developers and artists eager to learn how they can easily
incorporate 3D models, animation and environments into their game
development pipeline, are invited to stop by the MAXON booth
(#2033, South Hall) for demos highlighting the seamless
connectivity between CINEMA 4D and BodyPaint with many of
today’s leading game development platforms including Unity 3D and the Unreal
Engine.
Attendees to the MAXON booth at GDC will also learn how MAXON BodyPaint 3D easily integrates into current Photoshop, Maya, Softimage and/or 3ds Max workflows to easily create custom 3D textures for current and next-gen games as well as gain powerful tips and practical techniques, especially for handling complex data, that will prove invaluable in real-world game studio pipelines. Recent hit game titles that have leveraged CINEMA 4D and BodyPaint 3D include Halo 4, Empress of the Deep 3, and Call of Duty:Black Opps II.
Why:
MAXON software solutions are revered by game developers and 3D
artists for their spectacular image quality and an intuitive,
easy-to-use interface that puts professional results within reach
of artists at all levels of CGI experience.
Willie Stevenson, president of Silverback Games, has been using CINEMA 4D for several years on a number of game projects including the just-released Empress of the Deep 3 casual game series for PC, Mac, IOS, ANDROID. “CINEMA 4D is our sole 3D software solution and is a proven toolset which we’ve used successfully in conjunction with our proprietary game building platform, SILVERBUILD, within the framework of the Unity Engine,†Stevenson said. “We’re using CINEMA 4D in real-time and the new sculpting tools in R14 not only provide us with technical advantages but incredible creative flexibility to generate complex game assets.â€
For the recently released hit video game, Halo 4, The Sequence Group, the Vancouver, BC-based creative studio, partnered with the Halo franchise team at 343 Industries, and relied on CINEMA 4D to build, texture, animate and render scenes that produced over twenty minutes of original animated content in the game, including eight “Terminal†animations – hidden content within the game that players can access providing detailed backstory about the characters and the new Halo world.
"Creating our main characters in CINEMA 4D was an advantage as we could reuse them for an entire scene without having an artist paint a new character for every scene, while the seamless integration of the CINEMA 4D Mograph toolset with Adobe After Effects allowed us to achieve a painterly look for all the 3D renders and create complex and dynamic animations without having to spend countless hours coding,†Ian Kirby, Sequence Group Director, said.
