Mar 02, 2014 at 12:41 am by Store Staff

file_502357.jpgCongratulations to 3D-Age for being Renderosity's Vendor of the Month for March!

Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you've been up to. How is 3D-Age doing these days?

My name is Luo Chang Long. My wife and I have a two year old boy, he's adorable :) Two years ago, I was working all the time every day, except for eating and sleeping, but not anymore, my little boy always needs me to accompany him at play. I'm becoming a Teletubbies fan. Maybe someone noticed that my new products are a little less frequent, but I'm still a workaholic.

How long now have you been involved in digital art?

13 or 14 years.

Can you give us some hints on what you may be currently working on?

Now I am working on a skirt and strapless top. The skirt model has been done, but the top has not yet been started.

What software is currently in your digital toolset and why?

3ds Max, Photoshop, and Poser. This is the best combination for me.

Could you list any current favorites among the products you've created?

My favorites are Crazy Belle III, Office Suit V, School Girl III, Cats, Sportswear II, Office Suit IV, In a towel, and so on.

What are the biggest challenges you face in your work?

To make textures, as I'm not a texture creator. Luckily, I have two best partners, renapd and nirvy - they make wonderful add-ons for my products. Time is another challenge. I need more time, sometimes I'm barely able to complete two products in a month, this is the minimum requirement I set for myself.

Can you tell us a bit about your creative process, and are there any workflow tips you might wish to provide?

First, get a good idea, then modeling in 3ds Max, unwrap uv in 3ds Max or unfold3d, and then make textures in Photoshop. Then, finally to Poser and make all morphs, this is my process.

You've had the honor of Vendor Of the Month a few times previously. To what do you credit your continued success?

The main reason, is I make works I like and I know people will like.

Do you have any new insights or advice for aspiring Digital Content Developers?

I think the most important thing is to keep on doing what you like.

Do you have any final words or advice for other digital artists?

Just thank you, thank you for all who like my products!
