June 2013 Artist of the Month - adrie

Who is â€˜Adrieâ€™?

Well, Adrie is my real name. Iâ€™m living in the Netherlands in a small village called Elst, nearby the big city, Utrecht. Iâ€™ve been married for almost 38 years now. Me and my husband have three grown-up sons. We also have an adorable grandson, and the second grandchild is expected around mid-July.

How long have you been working in digital art?

I started working in 2006 with Poser7 and with Adobe Photoshop CS2. Now, I work with Poser 9 and Photoshop CS6. And, I'm still learning more things in Photoshop everyday.

Do you have any traditional art experience?

No, not really. In my younger years I did a lot of drawing with pencils and a lot of watercolor painting. Thatâ€™s all.

What are you currently working on?

At the moment, Iâ€™m not doing anything special, just having a little fun in making fantasy images in Poser 9. Creating fantasy images is what I love to do the most.

Who, or what inspires you?

Other wounderful artists works are enough to inspire me to create art.

What do you think your best piece of work is and why?

I donâ€™t think I could choose just one, because I like all my works. However, if I had to choose one, I would choose "My thoughts, in dark moments," because this image was created with lots of feelings and emotions in some of my dark days the last few months.

Do you have any tips you would be willing to share on the software you use?

I would love to, but I always have some problems to explain how all is workingâ€¦..sorry about that.

How has this online community (Renderosity) enhanced your work, relationships, and learning?

Rendo is more than just an Art Gallery-Community. Here, I have learned a lot on how to work with Photoshop and make some beautiful Mixed Medium artwork. And also, here I found lots of friends who have supported me when things got bad in my personal life. And also they supported me in my artwork, for which I am very grateful.

Do you have any parting comments, or advice for other artists?

The one thing I would like to say is believe in yourself, and create images you want to create, because they make you feel happy. Create with your heart and with passion, then all will be just fine. Also, I wanted to thank all the people who had voted for me to be June 2013 artist of the Month.
