The Inspirational Motion Weekly is a showcase of awe-inspiring short films, animation and motion graphic works from around the web. Given the rise of the independent filmmaker and everyday folks who express their creative ideas through animation, with all the incredible tools that are more accessible today, may this weekly segment serve to inspire you.

That said, here are a few really fantastic works I recently found...

About Francesca Macciò

Amo la pittura, la grafica, la fotografia e la musica. Quando è possibile adoro mescolare queste passioni assieme!

My passion for visual arts and visual communication has determined my career.
After the graduation in fine arts on high school I got a bachelor degree in Design with a dissertation on the relation between music and image from paintings to music videos.
This interest brought me to get a specialization in Animated Cinema at Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia - Scuola Nazionale di Cinema in 2013.
My attitude and the need to experiment led to Waterwalls, my graduation film co-directed with my friend Francesca Quatraro.

I worked as apprentice at Little Bull srl - Gruppo Armando Testa.

I created the official music video for E Allora Il Cuore, a song by the italian band Bandabardò. The video features once again a collaboration with Francesca Quatraro.

The Bear & The Hare

The John Lewis Christmas campaign has become a symbol of the start of the British Christmas season, and Hornet is proud to present The Bear & The Hare, Yves Geleyn’s heartwarming animated film for John Lewis and Adam & Eve DDB.

There once was an animal who had never seen Christmas. As autumn winds turn to winter snow, the bear begins his annual retreat into hibernation to sleep his way through the best part of the year. The festive spirit is strong though, and his friend the hare is determined to give him a gift he has never received before – Christmas.

This is a classic Christmas tale in the John Lewis tradition, but the scale of the project and the innovative combination of animated techniques involved in creating it are unprecedented. The marriage of traditional hand-drawn 2D animation with stop-frame model animation creates a tangible world full of texture and detail that conveys the honesty behind the John Lewis Christmas message.
