thanks for stopping by! What else can I say but "enjoy my work" - that's what makes me create it. Pleasure and enjoyment. I'm new to the whole 3D world, but I think it's incredibly exciting.
I currently use a variety of software suites, and they all have pros and cons I find. Shame nobody has yet come up with a package that gets rid of flaws and brings all the good stuff together:
- Top of my list is CARRARA - well worth the money, super versatile, dead easy to use, and brings results in seconds. Unless of course, you use highly detailed scenes, when it takes ages to render. Like all of them I guess. Featuring network rendering as a standard - fantastic feature.
- Next up, the very versatile, intuitive and FREE DAZ Studio. Preview results wuickly, pay NO money for a good 3D app, and great for animations. Very good OpenGL shader if you like that look. A bit weak on the "realistic results" front I find... but maybe that's just me.
- Bottom of the list is Poser - incredible results, if you can put up with the awful interface and if you can endure how long it takes to pose your scenes. Good on paper, but I think I haven't grown into it yet. I'll keep trying, since it seems to be the standard for great 3D results.
I also use Hexagon, and of course Photoshop CS3 and Premiere Pro CS3 for animations and editing.
The biggest challenge I find is setting lights - it takes ages, you can't properly preview your scenes until you render them, and they never work as you expect them to.
