Artist Portrait Mikko Juhani Ollikainen was born a Cancer, year 1978. He grew up in a small town of Mikkeli located in the North-East of Finland. First graphic program he layed his hands on was Deluxe Paint with Commodore Amiga 500. Obviously the graphic programs were nothing like todays tools, but he learned to control the mouse and painted action figures he liked. Later he got his first Pentium, a scanner and software called Photo Deluxe. From there it wasn't such a long way to Photoshop volume 4.
Mikko's art intrest started to grow over 25 years ago in his first art school. At the age of fourteen he joined to a comic club and drew short comic strips and -novels to the club's own publication. Few years later he started to paint with oils. Mikko graduated from Kuopio Academy of Design in 2004. In four years he specialized in graphic design.
He currently lives in Rauma, Finland and has worked as a graphic designer for an advertising agency since 2005. On his free time he enjoys digital painting with the help Wacom tablet and Photoshop. He is inspired by imaginery of Zdislaw Beksinski, Gottfreid Helnwein, Salador Dali and H.R. Giger.
