I am a college student. In my spare time I write novels, pen-and-paper Star Wars roleplay, and, of course, do art. As an artist, I've been strongly influenced by the detail-oriented Pre-Raphaelites, especially Dante Gabriel Rossetti. I tend to go for a very stylized effect, dark and brooding; some enjoy creating stunning renders with no postwork--and I respect that--but for me postwork is itself an art. I seem to have become known for my exotic renders of women, but early in my career children dominated my artwork and I was strongly influenced by William-Adolphe Bouguerreau; I just got sick of using Matt. I'll likely return to doing many children renders again when the Kid4 is released (soon, hopefully!). But for those of you who enjoy my adult renders, no worries: they won't be going away any time soon.
I also have a strong interest in linguistics, particularly historical linguistics, and enjoy creating my own languages--the "secret vice," as the master of the art, J.R.R. Tolkien (my hero :D), described it.
