I`m the CG hobbyist. My main area of interest is digital landscapes, but a s a big SF fan I also have passion for modeling of the space vehicles ( and any other fantasy or SF stuff ).
My current tools are:
3D - MojoWorld (landscape generator), Modo 203(best modeler for Mac)
2D - Photoshop
