Started this sculpture today. It will be but currently is not, a goat. Dynamesh Sphere for the body, tubes for the legs, cylinder for the neck and sphere for the head. Still a long way to go. It's nice to model without a bunch of people all with different ideas of what looks right breathing down your neck. I find the model ends up looking better that way. Anyway, long way to go still. About an hour and a half of work - most of my time was spent trying to find goat anatomy references from multiple views. Turned out to be harder than I thought, so I subbed in cow for the top view just to get a sense of shape but let the side view do most of the decision making. Anyway, hope you guys dig it and USEFUL feedback is welcome. :)

Ok, that's better. Now going to start the head and then I'll go back to the legs and add some feet.

Took a bit of a break to hang with family but I'm back. Some work on the head.

Another update. Need to work on the inside of the legs and then even out the hooves and fix the toes and dew claws and stuff but it's getting there.

Looking really good as far as I'm concerned!

The feet are divided, not just notched - see the image at the foot of this page http://www.activityvillage.co.uk/year-of-the-goat - unless that's what you mean by fixing the toes.

Yes, you are correct. I put that in there as a starting point before going in to finish it off. :)

Alien animal. WIP. Obviously the feet and hands are still a work in progress. I'm also rethinking the head and neck.

cool work. I like the first animal, nicely done. We can feel all the work/research you have done with it. Maybe a polypainting would be interesting ? Or even fibers ? (even if I know fibers are tricky) Or maybe a pose could complete this nice model ? I mean not necessarily complex pose, just a 'natural' one for this kind of animal ? Anyway, this is just suggestions, this is a good job :)
For the creature, the last model, for the moment I am not fan even if maybe it is just the beginning ? But I think it is always good to try and to test, just for practicing and to let your imagination & your brain+hands work. I feel there was few ideas in the same time, that did not mix well together, just a feeling. Now it depends what will you do with it or not.
I stay around to see more of your work :)

Thanks, yeah no, that creature was just me goofing around kit bashing. I take parts of other things and then try to combine them into a new creature when I kit bash. In this case, it wasn't great. I tossed it. The goat on the other hand, I have to finish, as I plan on giving that to my job.
