Brickyard VFX Delivers Stereoscopic 3D and Adds Holiday Flair to Multiple Spots for Directing Team, Tomorrow's Brightest Minds
Santa Monica, CA (January 7, 2011) - Artist owned-and-operated bi-coastal effects boutique Brickyard VFX recently collaborated with Oil Factory's creative collective Tomorrow's Brightest Minds (TBM) on two spots - one for the Georgia State Lottery campaign and one for Disney/Sony. The :30 spots are currently airing.
"3" simultaneously promotes Disney's Blu-Ray DVDs and Sony's new 3D TV through a whimsical family-oriented spot accompanied by the classic Schoolhouse Rock track, "Three is a Magic Number." In the spot, a family of four dons 3D glasses and sits down to watch Disney's "Alice in Wonderland." The family is pleasantly surprised and enthralled when stars, flowers, and other magical Wonderland plants come to life in their living room. TBM called on Brickyard to recreate the iconic feature elements from "Alice in Wonderland" in CG as stereoscopic 3D elements to showcase the film while promoting Sony's 3D television.
"This spot was a prime opportunity for us to further showcase our stereoscopic 3D capabilities," said Brick yard Executive Producer Jeff Blodgett. "It's great to tackle the creative challenges that come with this new workflow."
Georgia Lottery's "Snowman," via agency BBDO Atlanta, features a surly snowman who tries to make off with a man's winning scratch-off ticket. Brickyard provided a range of effects that included CG facial expressions and character enhancement for the snowman, motion graphics transitions, and snow extensions to cover the entire background scene.
"Collaborating with TBM on these projects was great," said lead artist Mandy Sorenson. "Their creative style is naturally funny and innovative. We loved working out the design and vision of the spots with the guys as well as figuring out all the stereoscopic issues. Everyone was eager to meet the challenges of stereo."
