April 2008 Artist of the Month - DigitalDream666

Staff

Each month the Renderosity community votes on The Renderosity Artist Of The Month [AOM] ... April's AOM is DigitalDream666!

We congratulate DigitalDream666 for an outstanding collection of works in the Cinema 4D Gallery!

Hi everyone!

First, I'd like to thank all of the people from Renderosity. It is an honour for me to be chosen as an "Artist of the Month." Thanks to all who voted.

Who is 'DigitalDream666'?

My name is Oliver Kieser. I live in a town called Kelkheim (Germany) with my wife, Kerstin and my 6-year-old daughter, Carolina. I work as a systems analyst for Unisys Germany. It is a nice Job working with systems with 32 Cpu and 16GB of Ram for a Renderfreak ;-)

The Beginning of the End

How long have you been rendering/doing computer graphics?

It´s easy to answer. My complete work is in my Renderosity Gallery, from my first Picture "Desert 1945," to my last picture "Backstreet Night." I can remember that I tried to start with a program on the Amiga, but with no success.

Do you have traditional art experience?

Unfortunately not. I had tried to paint with a pen, but the result looked like a picture from a 3-year-old child. ;-)

Senseless Life

What are you currently working on?

At the moment, I'm working on nothing special. I have started a couple of images, and when I have enough time I will try to finish those images.

What software/equipment do you use and why?

I use Cinema 4d for modeling, and sometimes rendering. I think Cinema is easy to learn and very good for beginners. Then I use Vue 6 Xstream. It´s great for landscapes, and the Ecosystem is unbelievable. And at the moment, when I have time I try to learn Zbrush. It´s not easy, but I need this very cool software for my nightmare dreams :-)

Hospital

What do you think your best piece of work is and why?

Hard to choose. I think the best piece is "Hospital." I like the light and the mood. But, one of my favourites is "The Beginning of the End." I don´t know why, but I love this image.

Why do you like to work with 3D software?

It gives me the ability to create and turn ideas and dreams into images. Only the brain is the limit.

Who/what inspires you?

My life and a lot of people around me, and all the great artists here on Renderosity.

OK, there is one artist...Rodney Matthews.

Backstreet

How has this online community (Renderosity) enhanced your work, relationships, and learning?

The Renderosity Community enhanced my work with every comment on my pictures. It pushes me forward to make things better. The forum is a good way to learn. If you have a question, go to the forum and you get your answer. And all the cool freestuff is amazing!

Parting Comments / Advice to other Artists?

Only your brain is your limit! Go on and make your dreams come true. Take tutorials and learn to use and love your software :-)

And thanks again to all for this great Day!

Artist of the Month is highlighting a talented Renderosity artist that has been nominated by mods and admins, and voted by the community. Recognition is given to this member for their collection of works for that year.

Since we only select one AOM per month, it is not about their works for that particular month. Instead, it is about highlighting a talented artist's works for that year, and they are recognized during that month.
