To what do you owe your continued success?

If you ask me why I have been "succesful," I can say because I love my job. I do believe people notice that and they feel they can share my inspiration and all the emotions I have when I am designing. Details, small things, careful design, lots and lots of tests and renders and variations with lights, materials, morphs... All is taken into account and deeply explored before releasing a product.

Do you have any traditional art experience?

The times when I was an acrylic and oils painter are far back in time... even so, all my experience acquired during those years is still important and useful  in my actual artistic interests and creativity. There is not a single day when I don´t have an idea that I would love to be reflected in 3D... I used to feel that I would like to have days of 50 hours.

Alanis Hair
(Now 40% off through Wednesday, February 29th!)

What can you tell me about the creation of Alanis Hair?

Ok, Alanis... I will tell you a short story.

Back in 2005, I had a very bad season with a depression episode. That was pretty bad, but also very hard to manage because there wasn't any reason for it to be happening to me. But, it stayed there on my spirit for a couple of months. My worse symptom was the impossibility of staying at my pc working as I used to do evey day. When I tried, I started to feel bad and cried, with no explanation or reason. Then, my husband decided to start some renovation on the house just to keep me away from the pc and push me to do other things without the pressure of the work for some weeks. That was okay for some days, but one morning I turned on the pc and started to play, doing some kind of pineapple leaves top, just for fun. In some way, it woke up my will, and then after that, day after day, I turned up the pc just a while to make it a Poser thing, before the workers came to work on my house.

When I paid attention to it, this hair model was looking good and I noticed that I only had a base texture and no morphs at all, and as it was born so far back in time (it was just for Aiko3, my favorite doll). The renovations ended. Then, I tested my situation, trying to start the days as I used to, working... and I succeeded. With no name, the hair model was there waiting for my finishing touches. So, I did them... Just that day, my eldest daughter turned on the radio and Alanis Morisette came into the room with her powerful voice. Something clicked inside me, so that was the name for my "salvation" product.

It was released in November of 2005 with good success, and it continued selling very well for a long time. Untill 3dcommune.com closed, it was one of my best selling items, even when it only was updated for the base V4 as part of a hair bundle. I delayed for some time on updating and releasing it here, now for more figures and with the new feature of the "Switching bangs." When I did it, it brought to me the same strange joy that it did in the past, when it was my "salvation exercise."

I can say that is my all time favorite hair, and if I was allowed by nature, I would love to have that kind of hair :) It's no wonder why people like it so much... I think, and strongly believe, that there is much more than bits behind our Poser elements... Some of them have something like a "life and love" inside. Like a person that comes out of a bad season, or got healed after an illness, Alanis also came to live for a second chance, totally revamped.

What inspires you in your work?

Everything... I have a list of the things I love in real life and all of them are present in my works: elegant clothing, refined lines, realistic results, delicate fabrics, jewelry, silky hairs... please, don't think I am all day long wearing laces or satin gowns... not, at all... I am just a normal working mother :)

Movies, art, music... all can be translated into inspired works and many of my favorite songs are reflected in my images, or even my products (Bettine, for example, with the subtitle "Sweet child of mine")

What software is currently in your digital toolset and why?

Software... is always the same, but recently since I got my PoserPro2012, I am using more and more the Morph Tool. The old loved ones are: Anim8or (free, and one of the best tools I have ever touched...and believe me that I tried almost all). I love that program. It is easy, but powerful, intuitive and also a challenge. I did all my things with it. Quidam is also good - I use it for some small details and some of its tools are fabulous. Then, also, UVMap, Corel, Photoshop, and loads-loads-loads of POSER!

How would you describe your creative process?

My creative process is actually very simple: I use to dream things, or imagine them when I am working with others. Sometimes, the products came after making some just ad-hoc for an image. The Caperucita was one of those. I cannot resist people asking me for the items I used... so, I just put hands there and make them.

Through the creation process, from inception to finalization of the product, what is your favorite part and why?

The part I like most? materials developing! Without a doubt, it is the part I like most. And then, art... as much as I can, in as much time I have to do art, is what I enjoy in full.

Could you list some of your other favorite products?

(Note: fabiana has specifically marked these favorite products at 40% off!)

The Caperucita

What are you currently working on?

Essentials Vol IV (won´t say what this is related to, to keep some interesting mystery, but those that know the series will surely deduct that it is something related to special materials). Rapsody Hair (as Alanis, totally revamped and much more than anybody can imagine from it, those that know the hair from the past). A couple of characters that a lot of people saw in my promos and asked me to make available.

Do you have any final words?

Believe me that this has been one of the best pre-birthday gifts I have ever had... I feel deeply honored to be chosen for this award and I must admit I have dreamed of it for some years since I've been here at Renderosity, being a vendor.

Some people used to say to me that I am some kind of "mark" in the Poser story... I think that is too much, but in some way I feel I have been so long involved in the 3D and Poser playground that I could tell the tale about the changes, the developing enhancements and also the ups and downs of it. As you may know, I first started selling at 3dcommune, that is not active anymore. Since I've been here at RMP, I just have good things to say about this place.

The Lady oozes so much talent and skill, I can see why see should get this award. One thing with Fabi, she sets trends and doesn't follow them, it's refreshing in this 'copy-cat' world of Poser.
Well done Fabiana, so well deserved.

To all you posting here, and all those that are shy and sent me messages:

Thanks from the bottom of my heart!!!

Is good to be happy doing what you want, what you love... but is way better if you know that others will feel and enjoy when getting into your imagination also.

So, let's walk together sharing our inspiration, just creating. Day by day.
Render your favorite scene and smile :)

Cheers, cuatomers and friend's, and come on... render with me another time :)

Fabi
