I was kinda hoping there'd be a lot more entries to look through since the last holiday contest had so many, but I'm happy with what was made.

Why is the short story contest showing under finished contests - with no results - and not under voting? Or is it just me?

I love the 3d entries - was looking through them yesterday for hours and I can't decide there are too many cute ones. Pity we only get one vote. I want at least four!
I agree with Panda, a vote using 1st, 2nd and 3rd preference would have been nice. It's so hard to just pick one.
I agree that there should be 1st, 2nd, 3rd choice voting. When there is only intangible qualitative selections to choose from then a matrix voting system is the most fair system available.
Would like to see 1st 2nd 3rd voting along with your 4th and 5th so that when things are added up you can use the 4th and 5th for honorable mention.
Did not enter this year into the Photo/2d due to time limitations. Think it would be nice to make them two different contests. (Just a thought)
I guess it would make sense if each person got to have atleast 3 votes, but you absolutely can not vote more than once on the same entry. I don't know if renderosity has it set up where that would be possible or even consider for future contests or not. One question, would it make sense to be able to only enter one entry per contest, but be able to vote more than once but not on the same entry? I don't know if that sounds reasonable or not. It's really up to the contest managers, the sponsors and the renderosity to maybe bring it up in future discussions for a possible consideration for future contests as long as everyone agrees to it and if it sounds reasonable enough.
I think one vote is fine, because it detours others who might ask eachother to vote for their own entry as well as their own, even if they could only vote once on one entry per contest. It could easily turn into a popularity contest rather than a fair voting contest. That's just how I feel about it. So one entry per contest sounds fair and reasonable.
Nods and tends to agree 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice voting would honestly be a bit more fair to everyone I think... on the basis that... well lets say there is one clear winner that just rocks the vote and hands down everyone voted for them... except three people who only got one vote a piece cause their spouse voted for them.... is it really fair to everyone else that these folks would get runner up prizes just because one person claimed all the honest votes?
Not saying this is a likely scenario... but with 3 votes to everyone, it's lots less likely that friendship voting would make that much of a dent. Anyway, my 2 cents ;P

Christmas is over... New Years is over... Santa is sleeping - that means he's not watching you... If you feel like being Naughty, do it before Santa wakes up - lol... I saw some pretty cool entrees this year - would love you to named the theme for the next holiday contest on July 25th, that way you could call it "Christmas in July" contest name - maybe have a vote off on the name and theme - the whole reason? Would love to see what our animating artists can do with it if they have MORE time... I'm not into animation YET, but hopefully when I am in a couple years this contest will have it's name months ahead of time - imagine the art that could come out with more time - I know, I've mentioned it before, so, this is it... It's a great idea, I hope you go for it - one last thing I mentioned before - give the animators their own catagoy (don't mix it with the 3D stills).

It would be very interesting to know that the end of the contest the number of votes that each work recieved..Could we know that?..
